2018 Recipient: Deputy Chief Constable Mike Serr
Mike Serr is currently the Deputy Chief Constable of the Abbotsford Police Service but has been appointed to assume the duties of Chief of police on October 1st, 2018.
He was selected to receive the CACP Recognition Award as an acknowledgment of his leadership of the CACP’s Drug Advisory Committee and his invaluable advice and direction on two of the association’s key strategic priorities – the legalization of cannabis and the CACP position on opioids.
The CACP is the voice of police leaders across Canada, and the association has been privileged to have Deputy Chief Constable Serr serve as an advisor and CACP ambassador before parliamentary committees, as a keynote speaker at professional conferences, and as an official spokesperson in response to media inquiries.
“Mike Serr’s ongoing support and dedication to the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and the broader Canadian policing community are highly regarded,” stated Directeur Mario Harel, President of the CACP. “He has shared his knowledge, experience and countless hours of his time as a CACP volunteer, making him a most deserving candidate for this award.”
