From Data to Decisions: Leading the Next Era of Public Safety

Canada’s policing environment is undergoing rapid transformation. Communities expect greater transparency and accountability, crime and social pressures are becoming more complex, and emerging technologies—especially artificial intelligence—are reshaping how modern police services must operate. At the centre of this change is data.

The CACP Data & AI Leadership Summit is designed to equip Canada’s policing executives with the insight, national alignment, and strategic direction needed to lead their organizations into the next decade of public safety modernization. This event brings together decision-makers from across municipal, provincial, federal, and Indigenous policing to advance a shared vision: a consistent, ethically governed, and operationally impactful data and AI environment for Canadian policing.

Data-driven policing is no longer optional. It underpins operational readiness, officer safety, risk management, resource deployment, financial stewardship, and public trust. Artificial Intelligence amplifies these capabilities—automating labour-intensive tasks, enhancing investigations, supporting frontline decision-making, and giving command teams better predictive insights.

However, AI adoption requires strong governance, secure data architecture, and coordinated national standards. Without these foundations, policing risks fragmented systems, duplicated costs, and uneven service delivery across the country.

The Summit provides executives with actionable strategies, proven practices, and clear roadmaps to:

  • Build trustworthy, high-quality data environments
  • Strengthen organizational governance and oversight
  • Reduce operational risk
  • Modernize digital infrastructure
  • Drive cultural readiness and data literacy across the workforce
  • Ensure AI is deployed ethically, transparently, and safely
  • Align with national priorities, legislation, and accountability frameworks

Executives will leave with a stronger understanding of how data and AI directly support their mandate—safer communities, stronger outcomes, smarter operations, and greater operational confidence.

The CACP Data & AI Leadership Summit positions policing leaders to shape Canada’s public safety future, ensuring agencies move from being data-rich to strategically insight-driven and AI-enabled.
