Intelligence Committee
Mandate
To advise and make recommendations to the CACP Board of Directors in relation to the implementation of a standardized criminal intelligence model to be adopted across Canada.
Objectives
- Advance the craft of intelligence in policing in Canada.
- Achieve a national community of practice to ensure an ongoing dialogue of intelligence professionals to ensure broad input and a forum for impactful communication in relation to operational and administrative exigencies.
- Establish a national standard for intelligence products, with associated peer review.
- Achieve the professionalization of the intelligence discipline and create a professional pathway for intelligence personnel.
- Establish effective dissemination and sharing protocols.
- Establish procurement standards for technology to ensure effectiveness, interoperability and fiscal responsibility.
- Utilize strategic foresight to establish an annual intelligence prioritization regime and a mode of performance management to measure the success of intelligence initiatives.
