LAES Sub-Committee

Mandate

The mandate of the Lawfully Authorized Electronic Surveillance (LAES) Sub-Committee is to ensure the continued effectiveness of lawful intercept as a law enforcement technique. 

Objectives

1. Facilitate the harmonization and alignment of technology, methodology and technical development efforts with police agencies and civil sector partners.
2. Promote best practices in relation to interception tools, procedures and policies
3. Facilitate access to technological and tactical solutions
4. Contribute to discussions about lawful interception systems and to efforts to maximize cost efficiency
