The Saanich Police Department is actively seeking experienced Canadian Police Officers to join our team.

If you have successfully completed recruit training, at an accredited police college and are actively serving or have served within 3 years you are considered an experience applicant.

Process is as follows: approx. 1-1.5 months in duration.

Resume and Cover letter, Application and PIQ

Staffing Interview (Can be done remotely)

Psych (Can be done remotely)

Polygraph (On a case-by-case basis)

Background Investigation

Medical (Attended in person)

Chief’s interview (Attended in person)

EXPERIENCED CANADIAN POLICE OFFICER WITH INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

If you are a serving Canadian Police Officer and have previous policing experience outside of Canada, your previous years of service may also be considered in relation to wage and vacation entitlement. The Saanich Police Department values all policing experience and, on a case-by-case basis, have reviewed and provided adjustments to salary and vacation hours to successful applicants with international policing experience.

An example of this would be, if you had 10 years of service with a non-Canadian police department and have immigrated to Canada. Are currently serving with a Canadian police force for 5 years, we will review your experience and could potentially provide wages and vacation hours equivalent to a 15-year member.
