Location: Prince Edward Island
Salary Range: $165,000-$190,000
Established in 2004, the Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN) is a non-profit organization with a mission to develop police professionals by providing innovative learning solutions that cater to the changing demands of Canadian and First Nations policing.
CPKN is seeking its next President to champion its vision and to continue to strategically position CPKN as the national leader in professional development, education, and training for policing.
The President holds a pivotal role in driving the vision and strategic leadership of CPKN and ensuring CPKN's activities are organized and aligned to successfully deliver the specified results of the Board-approved Strategic Plan. The President will play a central role in creating opportunities and continuing CPKN’s growth by forging collaborations with other organizations sharing similar missions, strengthening partnerships, and forming alliances that amplify CPKN’s reach and effectiveness. The President is also responsible for:
Ensuring all decisions and activities within the organization are lawful, prudent, and ethical;
Ensuring the Board remains informed and supported in their work;
Ensuring all procedures, processes, and activities involving interactions with external stakeholders are conducted in a respectful, timely, and efficient manner;
Promoting open communication channels with staff and maintaining a respectful and positive workplace, free of bullying and harassment. Providing staff with clear position descriptions and regular feedback on their performance;
Ensuring CPKN’s financial performance aligns with the Board’s approved annual budget or multiyear plan; and
Ensuring corporate assets, including information technology infrastructure, are always adequately maintained, supported by a long-term plan, and protected from a risk perspective.

As the ideal candidate, you are a seasoned leader with a proven track record of providing operational and strategic management in a complex, multi-partner organization. Innovative and visionary, you can see beyond immediate challenges to identify and capitalize on long-term opportunities. You can articulate a compelling vision for the future and develop action plans in alignment with strategic priorities that drive the sustainable growth of your organization.
You are an adept relationship builder who believes in fostering strategic partnerships and inspiring enthusiasm for your organization’s mission. With high emotional intelligence, integrity, and authenticity, you excel in motivating and empowering high-performing teams. As an inclusive leader, you integrate principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in all you do. You are also a skilled communicator, adept at tailoring your approach to various audiences.
